Windows 7

Yesterday I installed Windows 7 on my system. The time when I bought my lappy, the shopkeeper instructed that my lappy had Intel Atom processor and it does not support any other OS higher to the version of XP. I checked the compatibility online and it worked. Processor was 1.66 and still the performance is wonderful. It's working absolutely fine and there is felt no problem.

Earlier I tried the simple theme of & Transformer pack. XP was lighter but after installing the minor 27 MB theme, the performance degraded to a lot of extent. The icons' size was also large and even the start panel overlapped my small 10' screen of HP Mini lappy. The new OS 7 was within the limits even at low resolution and I was not required to install the drivers even. Probably due to the already installed drivers in my earlier version of Windows (i.e. XP). I have also heard that the Vista and 7 have some inbuilt drivers for some of the most popular hardware vendors and the installation wizard is intelligent enough to identify the hardware and automatically install the appropriate and respective drivers. But I am not sure of this concept.

Well, I am quiet satisfied with the performance. The security is better and having more layers than XP. But still, a lot of experimentation is left to be done.
