Youtube downloads

Since few days, I was facing problems in downloading videos from Youtube. One year earlier, I used to use www.youtubecatcher.com. After it stopped working, the most reliable way was www.keepvid.com. But soon, it was also blocked by youtube engineers from fetching data. My friends have been using Youtube downloader since 6-7 months but I never liked it. It is a cumbersome and irritating software (although easy interface). But after all those websites stopped downloading, I had only way left, to use this software.

Two days back, I found an easier way. I installed Real-Player. Once we search anything in Real-Player search bar, it opens the 'Web' tab and connects to real-player's site. There, you can use it as any normal web-browser (except using multiple tabs). I went to youtube in its browser facility and opened a video. Now once the video starts loading to be played, I paused it and right click on it. There I found an option "Dowload this video". That's cool, isn't it?

But wait.. It's too much slow. So, I decided to find an even better way and guess what? I got the best method to download youtube videos I had ever seen. Here is the way:
1) Download a 3MB software 'IDM' i.e. internet download manager. In the official website, you may find the links to buy it. But on scrolling down, the same site allows a free download too. I didin't feel any kind of restriction or low performance in choosing the free version. So, I went with it.
2) Install it. It will ask a reinstall for advanced browser's settings to be enabled. Do it. After restart, you are almost ready.
3) Now, one thing. Alththough this manager is an excellent download manager which scoops up almost entire net-traffic and the speed of all the other proxy users from your computer will drop (if any). And you will be the one to get the entire speed devoted to download. May be you will be able to download the contents at 70-80kbps and others might not be able to even open up their google web-page. But here is the best feature of this software.
4) If you open youtube in Mozilla Firefox, you will see a click-button hovering over the video stating "download this video". This makes the youtbe downloads the easiest and the fastest.
5) Note: I tried the same in G-Chrome but it didn't work. I did not try it in IE, Opera and Safari.

I downloaded the 18 episodes of "Leonardo Da Vinci (Part x of 18)" last night from youtube. I was doing my assignments work and completing the file when the downloads completed in about 2.5 hours with an average speed of about 65kbps. Prior to this software, I could download only at about 8-9 kbps which took about 45 minutes to download even one episode. Incredible software. Enjoy.
